Countryside Drive to Bath.

Did you know that Cotswolds translates to "sheep enclosure in rolling hillsides"?

I couldn't have described this part of the countryside better!

See, just as quickly as we arrived in the one light town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds, we had to leave again!

Best to enjoy every minute you have then, yes?

After a hearty English breakfast with the best French pressed coffee (Brits sure know how to make a mean cup of joe!), Peter picked us up and we began the drive to Bath.

I must say, having a private driver at your beck and call really is the way to travel. Not only is he extremely flexible with stopping wherever we need, but he's incredibly knowledgable about the country, offering tidbits about the history of the area that we otherwise wouldn't have known about.

Anyhow, our main stop for the drive was in the lovely town of Bibury, where we explored the area and treated ourselves to farmhouse made honeycomb ice cream. Hey, we're on vacation!

We eventually arrived in the familiar city of Bath, a beautiful and quaint city indeed.

Whilst it was lovely to explore, it was also blazing hot, and I most certainly sweat a few tons. But as one kind lady put it, I "Carried it very well." Well thank you!

At the end of the evening, after dining at the French restaurant Pierre, we visited the fairly empty Roman Baths, which were truly something magnificent.

Imagining the city of Bath being invaded by the Romans in 43 AD, building these spectacular baths in honor of Minerva, the goddess of healing and wisdom. It leaves you in awe at how old and historic the rest of the world is.

And right before bed, there was a bath. Because when in Bath....

What a change from city living!

Not only am I a tree hugger, but I also enjoy being hugged by trees!

And the flowers! Such splendor.

And finally, our arrival into Bath and the scenic Crescent....

See those windows on the far far left? Yeah, we had coffee there...

I'm telling you, evenings are the best time to explore! Hardly any people...

Seriously debating whether or not to take a bath, right here, right now.

For tonight's stay: Gray's Bed and Breakfast.

Not a shabby place to be, eh?

An Afternoon at the Palace.

Yesterday morning, we had to bid adieu to the city and turn the page to the next chapter in our book of adventure.

We had a sunny sendoff as we made our way out of congested London, and it continued to follow us as we made our way down the freeway and into the countryside.

A little change of scenery will do us good!

For this particular method of travel, we were lucky enough to have a wonderful Bathonian named Peter to take us from place to place. He once drove Beyoncé and Jay Z, so I'd say we were in good hands!

Anyhow, our first major stop on the journey from London to the Cotswolds was the famous Windsor Castle. We spent quite a bit of time there, checking out the local pubs and touring the grand interior, finishing the trip with an ice cream cone.

On the road again.

I napped along the way, hypnotized by the lush scenery and when I woke, we were rolling into the small town of Moreton-in-Marsh, where we would be staying for the night.

As Kate's dad quite plainly put it: it's a one light town!

But a lovely place to rest...

Thanks to the Millers for bringing along their Arizona sun!

Now technically, you're not supposed to take pictures of the interior of the castle, but we weren't aware until after the fact.

Us bishes just wanted a pic with the dishes!

Lunch was at The Carpenter's Arms...

A nice elderflower refresher!

And fish 'n chips, 'cause we sofishticated.
